The highly anticipated Starfield showcase could keep us waiting while Bethesda apparently “sorts stuff”, says the games community manager.
In January 2023, it was announced that there will be an Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct. The event featured new gameplay for Redfall, Forza Motorsport and more. However, one very notable exclusion from the Direct event was Starfield.
Bethesda could keep us waiting for new Starfield details
Thankfully, there was a good reason why Starfield was missing from the showcase and that’s because it’s getting its own dedicated event. Unfortunately, no date has been confirmed for the Starfield event and fans are left wondering, when will we get to see more juicy sci-fi gameplay?
Well, as reported by PCGamesN, we might be waiting a little longer than we hoped. Bethesda Community Manager, VaultOfDaedalus said on the official Starfield Discord channel: “we’ll have more info to share on the showcase when it’s ready to be, still sorting stuff out. I know that’s not the answer you want, but nothing specific is being withheld.”
In May 2022, both Redfall and Starfield were delayed until the first half of 2023. We recently learned that Redfall will release on 2nd May 2023. However, at this time, a release date for Starfield is yet to be announced.
Could Starfield get delayed, again?
Earlier this year, Bethesda re-confirmed that Starfield will launch early this year. Yet, according to industry insider MrMattyPlays, it is believed that the sci-RPG may be pushed back again towards the end of the year.
That being said, we’ve literally been waiting years for the arrival of Starfield. So at this point, I’m sure we can all agree that it should only be released when it’s good and ready.
Starfield will release this year (hopefully) for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
