When is the Stranger Things season 5 release date? Well, the short answer to that question is that no release date has been announced.
The writers of Stranger Things began working on season 5 on 2nd August 2022. What’s more, Strange season 5 will not begin production until May 2023.
Other than a Stranger Things season 5 release date, what else do we know?
Seeing as it’s safe to assume that season 5 of Stranger Things won’t be released this year, it’s looking increasingly likely that it won’t arrive on Netflix until 2024.
What’s more, with season 4 of Stranger Things being split into two parts (aka “volumes”), do not rule out the possibility of season five doing the same.
Is this the final season and how many episodes will there be?
Stranger Things season 5 will consist of eight episodes, one less than season 4. Furthermore, the creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer brothers have confirmed the title of episode one. The title of the opening episode of season 5 is “Chapter One: The Crawl”.
And yes, season five will be the end of Stranger Things. While it’s always sad to say goodbye, as they say, “all good things must come to an end”. Hopefully, the Duffer brothers can give the series the ending it deserves.
What’s the story of season five?
At the time of writing, the official synopsis hasn’t been released by the Duffer brothers or Netflix. However, let’s quickly gloss over what happened during the conclusion of season 4. Obviously, I will go into spoiler territory, so you have been warned.
Following an epic battle with Vecna which left Max blind, and for a time, dead, Eleven, Nancy, Steve and Robin thought they had put an end to the ruler of the Upside Down. As is often the case, nothing is ever what it seems.
Just as season 4 came to an end, Will Byers, who has a deep connection to the Upside Down revealed that Vecna is in fact alive. The Upside Down has been unleashed upon Hawkins and Vecna has an unrelenting thirst for revenge. Oh, and will we learn the true fate of the beloved character, Eddie? Only time will tell.
