A tale of many cities.

Skyrim Players Are Debating What The Worst City Is

Skyrim players have taken to Reddit to debate which is the worst city in the fifth Elder Scrolls game.

When you have a game as big as Skyrim, there’s surely going to be some debate about any manner of things in it. Which is the best sword? Who’s the best companion? What are the most useful spells? There’s so much in Skyrim, a conversation is sure to take place about something.

Now, Reddit user pzkpfw754r has kicked off a debate asking Skyrim players what they thought the worst city in the game is.

One user, TheMrSalmon, said they felt “Dawnstar was a missed opportunity since the nightmares don’t affect you.” They suggested that some kind of scary cutscene could play while you sleep to tie more into the nightmares.

Another user, fateamerican1_ said that they weren’t a big fan of Morthal. “It just kinda feels lackluster when compared to most of the other major cities. It lacks the scale of Whiterun, Windhelm or Solitude, doesn’t have the big set piece like Winterhold, doesn’t feel completely unique like Markarth, or have the quest significance like Riften, and it doesn’t even have a daedric quest directly attached like Falkreath or Dawnstar.”

Another user, Nocturnal_F1, turned the tide on Markarth: “They got enough problems. Between Molag Bal chillin in an abandoned house, The Forswarn, A jail that they claim is ‘impossible’ to break out of yet the Dragonborn does it on try number 1, along with many other problems, they have their own issues to deal with so don’t bring me into this chaos.
