Here Are Your PlayStation Plus Games For January 2022

Sony has unveiled the titles that will be added to its PlayStation Plus service in January. The games will be available from January 4th.

As usual, the list of games were leaked earlier this month which gave us an idea of what to expect. It appears as if the leak was accurate, as the titles mentioned there correspond to Sony’s official announcement today. Here are the titles being added to PlayStation Plus in January.

DEEP ROCK GALACTIC

Deep Rock Galactic is a four player co-op game where you play as a team of Dwarves mining deep into randomly generated cave systems to mine specific minerals, collect alien eggs, or retrieve lost equipment. This is a brand new release for PlayStation, with the game previously launched on Xbox and PC earlier this year. If you ask me, it’s basically if LEGO Rock Raiders was an FPS and is well worth your time. Deep Rock Galactic will be available for both PS4 and PS5.

DIRT 5

If racing games are more your thing, you may find some comfort blasting through DIRT 5 during the month of January. DIRT 5 is Codemasters’ “simcade” game focused on off-road racing. You can get involved with different race types such as rallycross, ice racing, and other off-road events. There’s also a dynamic weather and seasons system, changing how you must approach the race and tweak your driving based on the current conditions. DIRT 5 was a launch title for new-gen consoles last year, so it’s nice to see it become available for more people. It’ll be available for PS4 and PS5.

PERSONA 5 STRIKERS

Up for something a bit more narrative-focused? Persona 5 Strikers has you covered! It’s a sort-of sequel, sort-of spin-off to the previous Persona 5, set after the original game. Instead of turn-based battles, this game utilises real-time combat as part of its crossover with Dynasty Warriors’ gameplay. You can also utilise a command menu to take control of special actions for each member of your party. Persona fans can now enjoy the full story, as the original Persona 5 is also available on the PlayStation Plus Collection. If you’d prefer to play the updated Persona 5 Royal, we have it in stock over at the GameByte Shop. Persona 5 Strikers will be available for PS4, and also on PS5 via backwards compatibility.
