Shazam 2 – how and where to watch it

Shazam 2 – also known as Shazam! Fury of the Gods – is heading to screens this week. So here is everything you need to know about the sequel.

First airing in 2019, Shazam! is a superhero movie based on the DC comics with the same name. The story follows Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids as they learn to juggle teenagedom alongside their adult superhero alter egos. When a trio of ancient gods arrive on earth, Billy and his friends must work together to battle to save the world.

With the movie being a solid hit and receiving a Rotten Tomatoes score of 90%, it was no surprise when a sequel was announced. Additionally, the prequel grossed an impressive $366 million.

Where to watch Shazam 2

Shazam 2 will be hitting cinemas from March 17, 2023. Unfortunately, Fury of the Gods will not be available on any streaming services as well as available to buy or rent. It will also not be on Amazon Prime.

However, Shazam 2 will air on HBO Max in the US. This will most likely happen once it has left cinemas, as is the norm for all Warner Bros. movies. Although we have received no solid date for this, blockbusters such as The Batman took around 45 days to be added to the streaming service.

If Fury of the Gods follows suit, this will mean it could be available on HBO Max as of May 1.
