On that note, we know that the third instalment will be titled Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. However, this won’t be around for a while yet. Until then, we have Across the Spider-Verse to look forward to.

Across the Spider-Verse release date – Release News

As mentioned, Across the Spider-Verse was hit with a few delays. It was originally set for release on April 8 2022 and then October 7 2022. Now it seems as though the June 2 2023 release date is final (hopefully!)

What we can expect

The movie’s producer, Christopher Miller has had fans excited since talking about what they can expect. He took to Twitter back in 2020 to say the sequel is going to be a vast improvement.

“The development of new groundbreaking art techniques being done for the next Spider-Verse movie are already blowing me away. It’s going to make the first movie look quaint.”

How about the plot?

The official synopsis for Across the Spider-Verse is as follows:

“Miles Morales returns for an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.”

With the trailer seemingly showing that Gwen has found a way to reunite with Miles in his current universe, this opens up the possibility of further crossovers in the future. Until now, the gang (with some new faces) must go up against a big threat.
