Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 – everything you need to know

The Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 update is almost here. Thanks to a Twitter hashtag, we know what the theme will be.

Ahead of the upcoming update which is likely to arrive on March 11th (if you take the current Battle Pass information into account), information has slowly been released as to what fans can expect.

Spotted by Fortnite leaker, HYPEX, the hashtag “ForniteMEGA” was trending on Twitter. This insider believes this could be the title of the next Fornite season. The hashtag was also accompanied by neon-lit Japanese character emojis. This in itself translates to ‘mega’ or ‘huge’.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 – What could this mean for the update?

Although an emoji is not a lot to go by, this could hint to a cyberpunk aesthetic for the upcoming Fortnite season. This could feature a map that is reminiscent of Cyberpunk 2077 (but hopefully not as buggy) as well as new skins focusing on the neon-route.

Furthermore, a fellow Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR has released some further looks into the next season. Playing into the Cyberpunk theme, the leaker claims that “new, futuristic motorcycles” will be heading to the battle royale. This could be a way to explore a booming metropolis.

ShiinaBR also highlights the return of Lucky Landing (albeit a newer version), a Neo-Tokyo Point of Interest and “glowing mobility tubes you can slide.” To top all this off, it also seems like players will be receiving a new pistol and shotgun.

What else is new?

With Fornite not shying away from plenty of updates to their new seasons, Chapter 4 Season 2 will be no exception.

A Resident Evil crossover featuring Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield could be dropping this season. This will see the much-loved duo receiving their own skins. This rumour was also confirmed by Fornite leaker, ShiinaBR. This comes after a Geralt of Rivia skin was added to the item shop in the current season.

Additionally, Fortnite is reportedly introducing a first-person mode to the game this season. With some guns already allowing players to switch into first-person mode, this mode will perhaps lock the player into this mode throughout all gameplay.
