Resident Evil 4 remake ARG prequel appears online

With the Resident Evil 4 remake releasing later this month, Capcom have released a mini prequel ARG that reveals extra lore.

The much-anticipated Resident Evil 4 is set for launch on March 24 but for those who need something to pass the time, Capcom have got you covered. This prequel ARG reveals extra information about the backstory of the game – more specifically, the president’s daughter.

RE4 tells the story of Leon Kennedy as he tracks down the President’s kidnapped daughter, Ashley. Up until now, the details of her disappearance have remained a secret. However, the ARG fills in a lot of blanks in a text-based format.

How the game works

The game allows players to investigate the kidnapping by sharing their findings and getting access to top-secret information. With the game’s URL featuring “day/1”, this could hint to more content being released.

Players can also discover more about Ashley (codename Baby Eagle) and the lead up to her disappearance. We also find out why Leon ends up searching for her in that remote village in Spain.

What else to expect for Resident Evil 4

This news comes after it was recently revealed the RE4 Remake would be coming to PSVR 2.

Furthermore, we were lucky enough to get a preview of 20 minutes of gameplay for the upcoming horror game. We see how Capcom has introduced improved graphics and a creepier atmosphere to its much-loved title. Not only that but side-missions are making an appearance in Resident Evil 4!

In the meantime, we have the Baby Eagle Is Missing ARG to tide us over until Resident Evil 4 releases on March 24.
