Final Fantasy 7 Remake content is finally coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, but perhaps not quite as we hoped.
So, how exactly is Final Fantasy 7 Remake coming to Xbox consoles, I hear you ask? Well, it’s coming as PowerWash Simulator DLC. I suppose depending on your perspective, that might not be the news you wanted to hear.
Is Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Xbox?
Don’t get us wrong, PowerWash Simulator is an oddly enjoyable, and therapeutic game. However, ever since FF7 Remake was first released for PS4 in 2020, fans of the popular Square Enix RPG series have been wondering if or when it might arrive on Xbox.
Since its initial 2020 launch, FF7 Remake has also been released for PlayStation 5 as well as PC. Furthermore, in December 2022, TheGamer reported Microsoft claimed that Sony was blocking certain games from coming to Xbox. One of those games was the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Is this Final Fantasy 7 Remake DLC better than nothing?
The FF7 Remake content for PowerWash Simulator is called ‘Midgar Special Pack’ and the DLC is totally free via an update. So I suppose if you already own PowerWash Simulator, it’s a nice bonus nonetheless.
Moreover, Midgar Special Pack will be available on 2nd March 2023 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. What’s more, PowerWash Simulator is also available via Xbox Game Pass.
You can clean Croft Manor in PowerWash Simulator
Midgar isn’t the first Square Enix-related franchise that has swooped its way into the world of PowerWash Simulator. Just a few weeks ago, Lara Croft’s massive mansion from Tomb Raider was also added to the game via a free update.
So what franchise could be next, perhaps Arcadia Bay or Haven Springs from the Life is Strange series? Only time will tell.
