Starfield is the priority right now.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Might Still Be In Pre-Production

Elder Scrolls 6 might still be in pre-production, if a Bethesda employee’s LinkedIn profile is to be believed.

The Elder Scrolls 6 was first announced back in 2018, but only with a title reveal. Fans were told that the game was a ways out at the time. Almost four years later, that doesn’t seem to be changing any time soon. As a recent spot on a Bethesda employee’s LinkedIn profile indicates, the game might still be in pre-production (thanks, PCGamesN).

Spotted by Twitter user Timur222, Fanny Manset, who works as Talent Acquisition at Bethesda, included on her profile that the studio is “currently in full production on Starfield, its first new universe in 25 years, and pre-production on the highly-anticipated The Elder Scrolls VI.”

It’s no surprise that Starfield is the big focus right now, with a release date of November 11, 2022. And given that it will be so focused on Starfield, it isn’t much of a surprise that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still only in pre-production. But it does beg the question of why Bethesda announced it so early in the first place.

Bethesda tends to make big games. So if they are only in pre-production, it will be a good few years before we can expect The Elder Scrolls 6 to release. Considering its previous releases, it’s also likely Starfield will get DLC support, presuming it’s successful. So, sorry to those who were hoping we’d get the next Elder Scrolls game soon. You’re going to have to wait a while longer.
