Someone has recreated N64 classic GoldenEye 007 in Far Cry 5 using the Arcade Mode and dam, it looks amazing!
The Arcade Mode in Far Cry 5 is very robust and players have created some truly awesome maps. Just check out the impressive recreation of the village from Resident Evil 4 below.
However, the latest fan recreation is of the beloved N64 classic GoldenEye 007 and is quite possibly the most impressive creation using the Arcade Mode tools yet (via Game Informer).
The recreation of the iconic GoldenEye 007 was put together by YouTuber ‘Krollywood’ and while we won’t be getting an official remake anytime soon, this is probably the next best thing.
According to an article from Kotaku, Krollywood stated that it took them almost three years to recreate the beloved first-person shooter from 1997.
I would say that with Far Cry 6 on the horizon, I can’t wait to see what players can do with a next-gen version of Arcade Mode. Sadly, however, it has been confirmed that Far Cry 6 won’t include this fan-favourite mode.
How to play the goldeneye remake
The recreation of GoldenEye 007 is playable on the PlayStation 4 version of Far Cry 5. In order to play it, you must search for the PSN username “Perfect-Dark1982” and go from there.
It’s a shame that the Arcade Mode won’t feature in Far Cry 6, but if you want to experience this mode in Far Cry, the game is often being sold on the cheap via the digital platforms for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Far Cry 6 will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on October 7th, 2021. You can pre-order it now from the GameByte Shop.
